The 18th Annual Mutual Fund Industry Awards recognized the funds, fund leaders, marketers, trustees and independent counsel who stood out for their successes, achievements and contributions in 2010.

Nominees were announced in the February issue of Fund Directions and the January 31 issue of Fund Action and were honored at our annual awards dinner and ceremony on April 7, 2011, at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City.

This year's event also celebrated the Rising Stars of Mutual Funds. Nominated by their managers, colleagues and mentors, the 'Rising Stars' are selected by the publishers of Institutional Investor News as up-and coming professionals poised to be future thought leaders of the industry.

Expect Miracles Awards
At this year's awards dinner, our charity partner the Expect Miracles Foundation (formerly Mutual Funds Against Cancer) presented their 2nd Annual Expect Miracles Awards sponsored by American Century Investments. These awards recognized the individuals and firms within the financial community for their outstanding support, commitment and dedication in the fight against cancer and/or cancer-patient care programs.
